Habits That You Need To Cut Out of Your Life

We all know the importance of having good habits. They help us to be more productive, increase our positivity and affect our overall well-being for the better. Yet despite that, many of us still have bad habits that we need to cut out of our lives. If you need to shake up your routine here are some tips that you need to apply to your life.

Non-Beneficial vs Beneficial Habits

As we reach the end of autumn, we are also nearing the end of the season for releasing all that no longer serves us. Autumn is the perfect time to imitate the trees, like the shedding of their leaves, letting go of the past to prepare for the next season of rest before rising once again during spring. At the dawn of a new day, we must choose to make good choices that benefit us in the long run.

Now is the perfect time to cut out all non-beneficial belief systems that are holding you back from showing up as your higher self. Any habits that you connect with will have an alternative habit that is more beneficial. Your practices and customs should bring you joy and elevate you to a higher plane.

Be conscious about what your habits are and try to see how you can improve them. From complaining and procrastinating to gossiping, be honest about your actions. Determine a new, healthy routine and put it into practice.

Starting Your Day With Negative Thoughts

If you’re anything like me, your mind is constantly racing with endless thoughts. As soon as I wake up my mind goes right to my to-do list and I obsessively figure out what needs to be done that day. Instead of overwhelming yourself from the moment you have your very first conscious thoughts of the day, start your morning with gratitude and a clear mind.

Before negative thoughts take over, focus on what you’re thankful for to cultivate peace and harmony. Think about what brings you joy and what you live for. Keep your heart open and take in the beauty of all that life has to offer.

Banish negativity and awaken from your slumber feeling positive and full of energy. Not only is this good for your mindset but it will help you to start your day right. Use gratitude to fuel your fire and get your going.

Not Doing Things Mindfully

I get it. We are all living in a busy world where there is so much happening at the same time. But ask yourself, when is the last time you mindfully completed a task? Are you in the moment or are you overwhelmed with the ups and downs of life?

Don’t let yourself get swept up in the motions. Instead, be present and take in everything that is happening. If you must use your time wisely, use it to combat stress and release what no longer serves you. You can do this during the most mundane task such as brushing your teeth.

Practice mindfulness throughout your day and begin to create a new, positive habit for yourself. You can introduce this by taking a few minutes out of your day to meditate. This will keep you calm and centered while raising your vibration.

Taking Things Personally

This habit is inspired by the book The Four Amendments by Don Miguel Ruiz. One of the most disastrous things that we can do is take on other people’s energy as if it were our own. We must remember that how other people react, speak to us, and interact with us is all a projection of their inner state.

Their behavior has nothing to do with us. So, stop worrying about what other people are doing and start focusing on your own well-being. To aid you in this endeavor, begin each day by adding protection to yourself either with a bubble of light during meditation practice or wear crystals with protective properties.

The state of another person’s reality should not infringe upon your own. In simple terms, this means that you should always remain immune to other people’s actions and not let them affect you. When you take this on board you will be more calm and untroubled by others.

Sabotaging Your Manifestations

Each of us has the incredible ability to create our reality but we often get sidetracked by doubt, fear, and attachments to the past. Do you ever find yourself getting so excited about what you’re manifesting that you keep obsessing over when it will finally happen? This is a prime example of self-sabotaging.

Manifestation work requires patience and trust in the Universe. Without these, there will be delays and more work will need to be done. When doing manifestation work remember that after you send out your intention to the Universe you must let it go and let it come to you naturally. You have already declared that it’s yours, now let the universe take care of the rest.

Not Prioritizing Your Practice

This is a universal problem for anyone with any type of practice: witchcraft, spirituality, or even a passion project. As a society, we are taught to focus solely on other people because working on yourself is considered selfish. We need to abolish this separation from ourselves and devote the time that we need to thrive.

Not prioritizing your practice is inherently self-sabotaging. Make a routine that fuels you. Spend time learning. Habits take time to cut out of your life because you are going deep within your subconscious mind to get to the root of your problem. Have patience and know that you are doing this for your overall well-being.
